Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

October 21, 2004 

 

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, October 21, Room 20, Montgomery Hall.  Tom Zeidlik presided.

 

2. Those present were Victoria Beard, Connie Borboa, Mary Cutler, Mary Drewes, Jim Haskins, Chuck Moretti, David Relling, Sandra Short and Tom Zeidlik.

 

3. Minutes for October 14, 2004.  Jim Haskins moved to approve the minutes from October 14 as amended. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

4. Jim Haskins presented IT change of title for Industrial Technology minors request; IT change in program requirements request; IT 316 course deletion request; IT 411 new course request; IT 311, 451 and 497 course change requests and moved approval of all of the requests.  The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously. Jim Haskins will report back on the following: a response from Teaching and Learning with regard to the deletion of IT 316; shortening of the titles for the minors; and clarification of the IV. Under Technology Teacher certification.

 

5. Chuck Moretti presented Rehabilitation and Human Services change in program requirements request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

6. Mary Cutler presented B.A. with a major in Theatre Arts change in program requirements request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

7. Mary Cutler presented B.A. and B.S. with a major in Psychology change in program requirements request—to permit sign language as an option for the language requirement; B.A. and B.S. with a major in Psychology change in program requirements request—add biology 111/111L as an option to the biology/anatomy requirement; B.S. with a major in Psychology change in program requirements request—catalog description update and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

8. David Relling presented B.S. with a major in Physics change in program requirements; Phys 431, 460 and 461 course change requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

9. Tom Zeidlik presented Hist 340, 341 and 450 new course requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

 

10. Tom Zeidlik presented Chem 331L new course request and Chem 333 course change request and moved approval of both. The motion was seconded, voted upon, and carried unanimously.

 

11. Chuck Moretti presented Engl 305 course change request and English Education change in program requirements request and moved approval of both. The motion was seconded, voted upon, and carried unanimously.

 

12. The meeting adjourned at 3:40.
