Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

March 23, 2006

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, March 23, Room 305, Twamley Hall. Tom Zeidlik presided. Those present were Connie Borboa, Mary Drewes, Connie Gagelin, Roxanne Hurley, Assion Lawson-Body, Kanishka Marasinghe, Craig McLaughlin, David Relling, Sandra Short, and Tom Zeidlik.

2. Minutes March 9, 2006. Roxanne Hurley moved to approve the minutes from the March 9 meeting. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

3. Tom Zeidlik and Craig McLaughlin presented SpSt 506, 524, 526 and 527 new course requests and SpSt 405, 435, 450, 460, 470 and 480 course change requests. Tom Zeidlik moved approval of all the requests. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with one abstention.

4. Kanishka Marasinghe presented Speech-Language Pathology change in program requirements request and moved approval of the request pending receipt of new course paperwork. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with one abstention.

5. Roxanne Hurley presented Nurs 579 course change request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

6. Sandra Short presented Coun 580, 581, 584, 588 and 999 course change requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

7. Tom Zeidlik moved to remove Soc 356 from the table. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Tom Zeidlik presented Soc 356 new course request. Roxanne Hurley moved to deny the request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with two abstentions.

8. The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
