Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

March 25, 2010

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, March 25 in Room 404, Twamley. Liz Tyree presided. Those present were Connie Borboa, Paul Drechsel, Connie Gagelin, Bonni Gourneau, Richard Millspaugh, Mary Riske, and Liz Tyree. Guest: Gwen Halaas

2. Minutes March 11. Richard Millspaugh moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with one abstention.

3. Mary Riske and Gwen Halaas presented Master of Public Health degree with

certificate program component new program request and MPH 998 new course

request. Mary Riske moved to approve the package.  The motion was seconded,

voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Paul Drechsel presented the Certificate in Writing and Editing change in program requirements request and Engl 426, 427, 428, 429 course change requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

5. Richard Millspaugh presented the M.A. in History change in program requirements request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

6. Mechanical Engineering 426, 429 course change requests; Engineering 100 course change request; and Engineering 100 new course requests were reviewed. Liz Tyree moved to approve the requests. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

7. Bonni Gourneau presented the following program terminations: minor in Secretarial Administration; minor in Business Education Teaching; UND and VCSU Joint Master of Science in Technology Education and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

8. The next meeting will be April 22.
