Mandatory Student Fee Information

Tuition for North Dakota's institutions of higher education is determined annually by the State Board of Higher Education.  In addition, the Board authorizes the individual institutions to collect certain other mandatory fees.  These fees support costs that are associated with services, activities, facilities and infrastructure that support students outside the classroom.  The following link provides detailed information regarding these fees: 2008-09 Approved Fee Structure.

Students are billed mandatory fees up to 12 credit hours. There are no additional fees charged for students registered over 12 credit hours.  However, special course or program fees may be assessed, if required.

The approved mandatory fees for 2008-09 are $618.56 for 12 credit hours, or $51.55 per credit hour and include:

UND Student Fees - $487.20 per semester full time ($40.60 per credit capped at 12 credits) – Costs supported by student fees include Student Government, Student Health, Bonds, Technology, Wellness, Memorial Union, Career Services, Substance Abuse Prevention Programming, Multicultural Student Services, Athletics, Student Success Center and the Judicial/Crisis Team.

Technology Fee - $50.00 per semester full time ($4.17 per credit capped at 12 credits) - Supports technology needs.  The following link provides additional information on the use of this fee: http://www.und.edu/org/stf/index.html.

NDUS Fees - $81.36 per semester full time ($6.78 per credit capped at 12 credits) – Supports functions that are managed at the ND University System level.  This includes support for Connect ND and the ND Student Association.
