Our Mission…

The purpose of the North Dakota Teacher Center Network is to assist teachers, preservice teachers, and other educational personnel in professional knowledge and skill development to improve student learning.

Our Services…

The Grand Forks Area Teacher Center is one of ten Teacher Centers across North Dakota, that together form the North Dakota Teacher Center Network, founded in 1977.   Programs are needs driven.   The Center is guided by a local Policy Board consisting of area teachers, administrators, and community representatives.   Membership is available to schools and individuals.   Members have access to a variety of free or low cost services and benefits including:

Informative Monthly Newsletter:   This is our primary publication, listing upcoming workshops, teacher education courses and professional development opportunities. The newsletter also provides information on available classroom and curricular resources. The newsletter is available by mail to active members of the Center.

Professional Resource Library:   The Center maintains a resource library, providing check-out services to member teachers and preservice teachers. Classroom audiovisual materials and professional resource books are available in many subject areas for all grade levels. A catalog of resources is available, via the ODIN system.   Click on the Library link in the menu bar for details.

HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness Training:   This is conducted in a day-long session, providing current information on HIV/AIDS, as well as prevention and curriculum for students K-12. Training is free to teachers and participants receive classroom materials, meals, mileage, and substitute teacher reimbursement.

Other Workshops or Inservice Opportunities:  The Center is continually seeking to facilitate training and workshops based on availability and demand.
