500, 700, 900 Numbers
Numbers with a 500, 700, 900 area code can not be dialed from UND telephones.
Call Hold
To hold current call:
Depress switchhook/flash, talk or phone button
Hear broken dial tone
Dial *4
Hear dial tone, Lay receiver down/do not hang up.
To return to held call:
Hang up
Your phone will ring with 3 short rings, Answer.
Call Waiting (Most staff phone do not have call waiting)
To end current call and answer an incoming call:
Hang up your telephone
Your phone will ring
Answer.
To hold current call and answer or alternate between calls:
Depress switchhook/flash, talk, or phone button
Dial *4, Begin talking.
To return to held call:
Hang up and your phone will ring

To Cancel Call Waiting
Before placing the call, Dial #50=number (if you are calling an off-campus number you must dial 9 before the local telephone number).
*Call waiting is automatically restored when you hang up.
