Common SPSS Installation Problems
'

Your license of SPSS has prematurely expired.
If this occurs, you will be presented with an error message, stating that your license has expired. If the program is not scheduled to expire yet, this problem can be easily solved by authorizing your license.

Here are three ways to get to the SPSS License Authorization wizard:

  • In SPSS, go to the "Help" menu and select "License Authorization Wizard"
  • In the Start menu under "All Programs" and "SPSS for Windows", you will find "License Authorization Wizard"
  • When your installation concludes, you will have an option to open the "License Authorization Wizard"

Once the License Authorization Wizard is open, click "Start." Select "Use Authorization via Internet to get License." Click Next. Enter the authorization code you were given when you were issued the license. Click Next. Your computer will connect to the SPSS server and authorize your license. You should not be able to use the software without receiving the license expiration notice.

If you experience other problems with SPSS, please contact Software Licensing at undsoftware@mail.und.edu.
