End of Fiscal Year (05/26/06)
The last day to order software for the 2006 Fiscal Year is June 16, 2006. Any software ordered after June 16 will be billed for the 2007 Fiscal Year. Please take this into consideration when making your end of the year software purchases.
Software Order Process is Changing Soon (02/13/06)
As you may have heard, our software license order process is about to change. Each department on campus has selected one individual to be a "software license coordinator." All software orders will go through that one person. This will ensure that all purchases are approved and help departments keep better records.
This new procedure will begin March 1, 2006. If you're not sure who to contact in your department, click on "How to Order" to see a list of all the coordinators.
Adobe has purchased Macromedia (02/13/06)

New Adobe Agreement at UND (02/13/06)
Tired of the long wait to get Adobe licenses at UND? You don't have to be anymore!
UND, along with the rest of HECN Software Licensing, has entered into a new agreement with the Adobe corporation. The new agreement will allow us to process license requests in a much more timely manner.
If you order a product that we do not already have media for, there will be a turn around time for us to order and receive the new CD set. Otherwise, Adobe license requests should be processed in a week, usually alot sooner.
Why order software for your department through the University?
By purchasing software through site licensing and volume license agreements rather than individually packaged retail software products, the HECN saved over $400,000 in the 2004 fiscal year. Most site license and volume license software is sold at a fraction of the cost of software products that are purchased individually.
Mark your Calendars! Software Renewal Dates to Remember:
- SAS - February 28, 2006 (The license year began March 1, 2005)
- ESRI - June 30, 2006 (The license year began July 1, 2005)
- Mathematica - August 9, 2006 (The license year began August 10, 2005)
- AutoDesk/AutoCAD - October 14, 2006 (The license year began October 15, 2005)
- SPSS - July 31, 2005 (The license year begins August 1, 2005)
