Students interested in pursuing a major in Women Studies through the Interdisciplinary Studies Program should contact the Director of Women Studies by dropping by the Women Studies Office at 133A O'Kelly, call (701) 777-4115, or  E-mail: kathleen.dixon@und.nodak.edu.

Requirements for the Major:
I . General Education Requirements
II . Interdisciplinary Studies Program Requirements: A minimum of 36 credits, including
IDS 280, Learning Across Disciplines (3 cr.)
IDS 491, Capstone Interdisciplinary Seminar (1-3 cr., not repeatable)
IDS 498, Senior Project (3 cr., repeatable up to 6 cr.)

In addition, students prepare a program of study listing the courses to be used to complete major requirements, which must be approved by the IDS advisor and the IDS Executive Committee before more than a third of the courses have been completed.

III . Women Studies Courses (21 Credits Min.):
A&S 225: Introduction to the Study of Women (3 cr.)
A&S 480: Feminist Theory (3 cr.)
CJ 361: Victimology (3 cr.)
Engl 357: Women Writers and Readers (3 cr., repeatable when topics vary)
Hist 332: Women in American History to 1865 (3 cr.)
Hist 333: Women in American History from 1865 (3 cr.)
Rels 116: Women and Religion (3 cr.)
Soc  340: Sociology for Gender and Sex Roles (3 cr.)

 In addition, these courses are commonly included in students' programs:
A&S 492: Senior Study (1-4 cr.)
IS 346:Contemporary Indian Women (3 cr.)
Comm 310: Media & Diversity (3 cr.)
Soc  335: The Family (3 cr.)
