Undergraduate Minor Program Description
'

Two sections of the introductory course are offered every semester and occasionally one section is offered in the summer, additionally Feminist Theory is routinely offered in the spring.  Other courses are cross-listed under Women Studies in the Time Schedule of Classes, some on a regular basis and some as special topics offered within various departments.  For more information on the Women Studies minor please drop by the Women Studies Office at 133A O'Kelly, call (701) 777-4115, or  E-mail: wendelin.hume@und.edu.

Undergraduate Minor
A minor in Women Studies involves a minimum of 20 hours of course work with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

I . Required Courses (total credits 6)
A&S 225: Introduction to the Study of Women (3 cr.)
A&S 480: Feminist Theory (3 cr.)

II . At least three of these regularly offered courses (total credits 9)
CJ 361: Victimology (3 cr.)
Engl 357: Women Writers and Readers (3 cr., repeatable when topics vary)
Hist 332: Women in American History to 1865 (3 cr.)
Hist 333: Women in American History from 1865 (3 cr.)
Rels 116: Women and Religion (3 cr.)
Soc  340: Sociology of Gender and Sex Roles (3 cr.)

III . At least five credits from the following or other courses from above, or cross-listed in the Time Schedule of classes.
A&S 492: Senior Study (1-4 cr.)
CJ 361: Victimology (3 cr.)
Comm 310: Media & Diversity (3 cr.)

IS 346: Contemporary Indian Women (3 cr.)
Soc  335: The Family (3 cr.)

Students may declare their minor though the College of Arts and Sciences and should contact the Director of Women Studies to design a program of study.
