The THREAT of the MUMMY

CAST MINI-BIOS

Darin Kerr plays the title character, Caesarion, the charismatic son of Caesar and Cleopatra who was believed assassinated but survived in a drug-induced suspended animation disguised as a mummy until he is inadvertently revived over 2000 years later and tries to renew his plans for world conquest. Darin is a veteran of regional theatre productions, with numerous leading roles over the past decade. His talents also include creative writing, and he has been pursuing a Master’s in English while teaching Freshman Composition at UND.

Dawn Kidle plays Tamera “Tammy” Gardner, the history graduate student whose PhD research involves the unwrapping of the mummy that turns out to be Caesarion. Dawn is a student in Theatre Arts at UND and has appeared in many UND productions. She is also a member of the Nine and Numb professional comedy improv troupe that performs weekly in Grand Forks.

Paul Kelly plays history professor Casey Wallace, Tammy’s dissertation advisor and boyfriend, and one of the few who is less than captivated by Caesarion’s charm. Paul plays guitar (and composed major portions of the soundtrack music for The Threat of the Mummy) and has acted since high school. He combines his vocal talents with his interest in music as a part-time DJ at radio station KJ-108. He has also been an occasional anthropology/archaeology/history student at UND.

Sarah Davis plays Diana Alexander, a history graduate student with more “new-age” interests, and leader of a protest group upset about the desecration of the dead by modern researchers. Sarah is another veteran of local theatre, music, and dance, and has previously starred opposite Darin. She coincidentally happens to be a UND history graduate student in real life!

Walter Ellis plays Professor Bob Hobson, advisor to Diana and senior history faculty member, recruited by the protestors to conduct the original Egyptian burial ritual for the mummy. Walter is a real-life history professor at UND specializing in ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, and the Near East. He is also a published novelist and a jazz/blues aficionado.

Kelly Clow plays Geoff, Diana’s long-suffering boyfriend, and comic relief character in the story. Kelly has appeared in many local theatre productions, as well as professional theatre nationwide. Like Dawn, he is a member of the Nine and Numb comedy improv troupe in Grand Forks.
