The Environment of the Week
12/1/97

This is the Red River at its location in Grand Forks, ND. The Red River Valley runs along the state borders of North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota. Being one of the few rivers that flow north, the Red River has always been famous but lately has become well know for the flooding of the Spring of 1997 where much of eastern Minnesota and western North Dakota were affected. To learn more about the timeline and incidents of the flood of 1997, check out the Great Flood of 1997.
