Take a look at
The Environment of the Week
12/8/97

This is Kelly's Slough, located in eastern North Dakota. Kelly's is a wildlife/wetland preserve dedicated to waterfowl and songbirds. It is one of the many marshes and sloughes protected by the Department of Natural Resources. The slough is based on an alkaline flat, hence the shores leave traces of salt and have a unique plant base to them. Fed by the Turtle River, Kelly's is a permanent wetland area that provides for one of the best ornithology and waterfowl areas in the region.
