Take a look at
The Environment of the Week
12/29/97

Clouds roll past the top of the Killdeer Mountains in Western North Dakota. The Killdeer Mountains aren't really mountains as in comparison to the Rockies or Appalachians, but they are one of the higher elevation in North Dakota. The Killdeer Mountains are home to much Native American culture as it is home to an old ritual area called the Medicine hole. Observers can cautiously explore this underground cave or try to catch a rattlesnake sunning itself on the mountain's eastern slopes.
