The Environment of the Week
1/26/98
This is a picture a fire in Southern California. This fire was caused
when gas lines broke due to an earthquake. Southern California is known
for its earthquake activity. Cities like Oakland and San Franciscon lie
on the San Andreas fault zone and have frequently been affected by the geologic
activity of this area. For more on hazards and earthquakes, check out Hazard Jeopardy or US Hazards.
