Take a look at
The Environment of the Week
11/10/97

This is a picture of the lava geysers at Kilewea on Hawaii. Hawaii is the home of some the worlds most active volcanoes. Being created by ocean volcanoes, the Hawaiian Islands are constantly being built up and created by volcanic rock. Scientists use the volcanoes to get a better understanding of Earth's interior processes and the dangers of volcanoes. For more information on volcanoes, take a look at our Hazard Jeopardy report.
