I am very proud of all my current and former students, and the many accomplishments they have attained throughout their private study. Here is a short list of honors and distinctions they have achieved as trumpeters:
- Featured in the June 2007 Downbeat Magazine article “Who’s Got Next? 20 Young Trumpeters Who Lead the Pack in the Next Generation.”
- Lead trumpet in North Dakota All-State Jazz Ensemble
- Finalist in the Greater Grand Forks (ND) Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Concerto Competition
- Member of the North Dakota Intercollegiate Band (two students)
- Member of University of North Dakota Honor Band
- Superior rating in North Dakota Solo and Ensemble Festival
- Finalist in Carmine Caruso International Jazz Competition
- Solo trumpet in West Virginia all-county jazz ensemble
- Superior rating in West Virginia Solo and Ensemble competition
- First chair trumpet in West Virginia all-state band
- First chair trumpet in North Carolina all-district wind ensemble (four students)
- First chair trumpet in North Carolina all-state wind ensemble (three students)
- First chair trumpet in North Carolina honors band
- Lead trumpet in Piedmont (NC) all-district jazz ensemble (two students)
- Solo trumpet in Piedmont (NC) all-district jazz ensemble
- First chair trumpet in Missouri all-state orchestra (two student)
- First chair trumpet in New York all-state orchestra
- First chair trumpet in New York all-district orchestra
- Superior rating in NYSSMA solo competition (three students)
