Ronnie Ingle is Assistant Professor of Music at the University of North Dakota, where he serves as teacher of trumpet and director of jazz ensemble. Prior to his appointment at UND, Dr. Ingle served as Assistant Professor of Music on the faculties at the State University of New York and West Virginia State University. He holds degrees from Western Carolina University (BA in trumpet performance), Webster University (MM in trumpet performance), and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (DMA in trumpet performance), and is an active member of the International Trumpet Guild and College Music Society.

Dr. Ingle has been a professional trumpeter for over twenty years, and has maintained a very active schedule as a clinician, jazz and classical soloist, and chamber player throughout the United States and Canada. He has performed with such diverse organizations as the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra, Smoky Mountain British Brass Band, St. Louis Metropolitan Orchestra, Greensboro (NC) Symphony Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony, and Asheville (NC) Symphony Orchestra, and is currently principal trumpeter with the Greater Grand Forks Symphony. His performances as principal trumpeter with the Adirondack Brass and Capital City Brass Quintets have been featured on National Public Radio, Vermont Public Radio, and West Virginia Public Radio, and his quintets have performed with a host of musical organizations and festivals throughout the United States. This past year, Dr. Ingle has performed with such headliners as Manheim Steamroller, Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, and the national touring production of the musical "Chicago", and has served on the faculty at the International Music Camp. He has composed and performed the music for a nationally-broadcasted documentary entitled “Final Invasion: The Battle of Plattsburgh and the War of 1812,” and was recently interviewed in a video documentary on the life and influence of jazz trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson.

As a conductor, Dr. Ingle has served as guest director and clinician for numerous all-state and honor band festivals throughout the United States. Recently, he served as guest conductor of the Minnesota Western District Honor Band, and is currently the musical director of the Crimson Creek Players. From 2002 to 2006 Dr. Ingle was the director of the Mountain State Brass Band, who under his leadership hosted the 2004 NABBA (North American Brass Band Association) Championships in Charleston, WV.

As a studio teacher, Dr. Ingle’s trumpet students have consistently won prestigious positions, honors, and awards as jazz and classical performers, and have been recently featured in national publications (July 2007 Downbeat Magazine "Trumpeters Who Lead the Pack in the Next Generation") and in performance (2007 Finalist in the Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition). Many of Dr. Ingle's students have continued as successful music educators and business people.
