The goal of the TOAST project is to automate the whole observing process from the creation of an observation list, initialization of the system, imaging of objects, and finally shuting down the system.

We are currently developing this automation system here at the University of North Dakota.

In the mean time the telescope is operating with semi-automation in hopes of discovering and following Transiting Extra-Solar Planets, Gamma-ray Burst Afterglows, Supernovae, and Near-Earth Asteriods.

An old power point presentation below was given as a colloquium at the Physics Department, UND on March 12, 2003. It contains an overview of the construction of TOAST, showing both the achievements and difficulties.
