Academics are a high priority for Alpha Chi Omega and our house goal is a 3.3 GPA. The women of Alpha Chi Omega are very well rounded and participate in many activities and organizations on campus. Some include UND athletics, Studio One, Intramurals, Student Ambassadors, Student Government and Women in Aviation. This past year our members also participated in Dance Marathon, Greek Week, The Big Event, Relay for Life and numerous philanthropies within the Greek community. Alpha Chi Omega, as a national organization, is committed to Domestic Violence Awareness and our local chapter supports the Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC) in Grand Forks.
AXO History
Alpha Chi Omega is a national women's fraternity with 133 collegiate chapters around the United States. Alpha Chi Omega was founded in 1885 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. The seven founding members were music majors, thus the organization was started as a musical fraternity. Although there is no longer a music requirement for membership, appreciation for music, art and culture is still a strong undercurrent of our national organization.Alpha Chi Omega offers many advantages to its members ranging from scholarships and leadership opportunities for its collegians to continuing education scholarships and employment networking for its alumnae. In addition to serving its members, Alpha Chi Omega strives to serve local communities nationwide through the altruistic efforts of its members.
