Ms. LaDuke, former Vice-Presidential candidate and Harvard graduate, currently lives on the White Earth Reservation in Minnesota and works on restoring the local land base and culture. In 1994 she was named by Time magazine as one of America's 50 most promising leaders under 40 years of age. She is author of several books including Last Standing Woman (1997) and All Our Relations: Native Struggles for Land and Life (1999). Introduction: Jim Grijalva

Please join us for this community rally in response to the opening of Englestad Arena on October 5. We will walk from the Memorial Union to a site next to the Arena, where we will conduct a "Change the Name" rally, calling on the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education to honor the Tribal Council requests to drop the logo/nickname. Speakers at the rally will also place the logo issue in the broader context of human rights and social justice.
