Jessica Semler grew up in the small town of Springfield, SD and attended South Dakota State University where she received a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She received her MA from the University of North Dakota in 2005 and is currently in her second year as a doctoral candidate also at UND. Her primary research interests pertain to domestic violence and healthy relationships, while her clinical interests are primarily in couples and family therapy. She enjoys her position as SAS Co-Chair as it offers her an opportunity to lead a wonderful group of counseling psychology students and assist graduate students in finding ways to navigate the field of psychology. Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, BJ, and dog, Oliver, as well as reading memoirs, riding her motorcycle, and traveling whenever she gets the chance. Jessica is the co-chair for SAS.
