Hi, my name is Tom Roskos and I am from all over the United States. I had a quiet, idyllic childhood in a few Midwestern states before experiencing culture shock attending high school in south Florida. Originally aspiring to become a veterinarian, I ultimately chose people over animals and graduated from the UW- Madison with a BS in Psychology. I am extremely passionate about two things; the outdoors and people. I’ve worked as a professional horseback, mountain, big game and dog sledding guide out West and dabbled in flat water and whitewater canoe/raft guiding in the South and East. Attempting to meld my passions, I worked for a couple therapeutic wilderness programs helping at risk teens. I am a first year MA student here at UND and serving as the mentorship coordinator. I love North Dakota and when I am not enjoying school, I enjoy long walks in the Badlands, sunrises in marshes, solo expedition canoeing, horseback riding in the dark, and spearmint gum.
