Support
As we have been planning Earth Day 2004, the organizers were in awe at the rising community support for such initiatives. Individuals and groups with whom we have had no previous association have literally shown up on our paths, asking: "What can we do?" The program you see here represents the work of a growing collective within our community. Many people have freely offered their gifts: talents, labor, time, space, energy, money, ideas.

Special Note:
Earth Day 2004 at UND was totally run by volunteers. Its limited budget was completely financed by donations. In the early stages, we thought: "We have no money. What can we possibly do?" One by one people and organizations started giving, including planning team members, their parents and grandparents. We came to know that people have considerable power to make a difference. We don't need to wait for someone else to finance us. If we each give a little, many things are possible. And the spirit of the event became giving back.
