WELCOME

Welcome to the Global Rural Autism Asperger Information Network (GRAAIN). We represent the fields of special education, speech and language pathology, social work, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, counseling, and psychology.

Our mission is "to support the provision of quality, life-long services for individuals with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) who live in rural settings."

We believe that with ready access to specialized training, research-based information, and a support network; parents, practitioners, and professionals who work with individuals with ASD in rural settings will have the skills and tools needed to effectively address the many and varied challenges they face.

We've established the following goals for GRAAIN:

  1. To provide ready access to specialized training for parents, practitioners, and professionals who work with individuals with ASD;
  2. To conduct and disseminate research investigating the provision of effective services for individuals with ASD; and
  3. To establish a support network for families, practitioners, and professionals who work with individuals with ASD.
