WELCOME
Welcome to the Global Rural Autism Asperger
Information Network (GRAAIN). Faculty members from the University
of North Dakota maintain this site. We represent the fields of special
education, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, physical
therapy, nursing, and counseling psychology.
Our mission is "to support the provision of quality, life-long
services for individuals with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) who
live in rural settings."
We believe that with ready access to specialized training, research-based
information, and a support network; parents, practitioners, and professionals
who work with individuals with ASD in rural settings will have the
skills and tools needed to effectively address the many and varied
challenges they face.
We've established the following goals for GRAAIN:
- To provide ready access to specialized training for parents,
practitioners, and professionals who work with individuals with
ASD in rural settings;
- To conduct and disseminate research investigating the provision
of effective services for individuals with ASD in rural settings;
and
- To establish a support network for families, practitioners,
and professionals who work with individuals with ASD in rural
settings.
We invite you to explore our web site.
