David Britton comes to his interest in grain elevators honestly, as his father owned and operated elevators in several North Dakota communities, including Grand Forks. Britton is a member of the Grain Elevator Historical Society and he has photographed over 1700 grain elevators in the United States and Canada. His business, Britton Transport Inc., of Grand Forks, ND, conducts operations from Texas to the Canadian Prairie Provinces, transporting primarily agricultural commodities and value-added products such as pasta.

On Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at 7 p.m., Britton will present " Country Grain Elevators - Form, Function and Memories" in the Amigo Room of the Ramada Inn.
