Sue Jeno said they were to serve as each team’s contact to the IAC, be available to help with issues as they arise in each sport, serve as an additional faculty contact, assist or serve on coach search committees and other ways as requested by the compliance director. Input from the IAC will help demonstrate institutional control to the NCAA.
Skate for the Cure has been cancelled for now, due to conflicts with the team jersey contracts.
Committee Chair: Sue Jeno nominated Susan Nelson to serve as chair of the Intercollegiate Athletic Committee. Bruce Smith seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor of electing Susan Nelson committee chair.
Athletic Department Updates:
Compliance:
Daniella Irle said Kara Helmig, the new assistant athletic director, has DI experience. The two of them will work together to educate coaches, staff and boosters on the new DI environment. For boosters, the guideline to follow when dealing with student-athletes is to ask before you act. Head coaches and assistant coaches will attend monthly meetings to be educated on the DI rules and regulations.
New Business:
Policy and Procedures Manual: The updates for the Athletic Department Policy and Procedures manual were passed out to the committee. Bev Hopman will get manuals to the two new committee members.
Old Business:
Missed Class Policy: This issue will be discussed after the new assistant athletic director/compliance has had the opportunity to review the policy that was proposed at the May meeting.

p.m. The dates will be Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.
