COMMITTEE MEETING

September 16, 2008

ATTENDING: James Antes, Charlie Bridgeford, Judy DeMers, Greg Gagnon, Gail Ingwailson, Jon Jackson, Mike Schepp, Lowell Schweigert, Bruce Smith, Paul Todhunter

In the absence of Susan Nelson, Paul Todhunter called the meeting to order at 3:15 p.m. Bev Hopman explained that Athletic Director Brian Faison was attending an event in Williston with President Kelley and representatives from the Fighting Sioux Club and the Alumni Association. Associate Athletic Directors Daniella Irle and Sean Johnson were representing UND at a meeting of the Great West Athletic Conference. Assistant Athletic Director Mike Schepp was present to represent the Athletic Department.

Minutes: Gail Inwailson moved the minutes from the August 19, 2008, meeting be approved as submitted. Judy DeMers seconded. Motion carried.

Student Athlete Code of Conduct: Mike Schepp explained that UND Athletics is developing a student athlete code of conduct. A first draft of the code of conduct was e-mailed to the committee members prior to the meeting. Mike Schepp asked for input from the committee members. After some discussion, it was recommended that each IAC member review the draft and e-mail their comments to Brian Faison prior to the October meeting.

Meeting Dates/Times: Greg Gagnon asked the IAC to consider moving the meeting dates from the third Tuesday of each month to the second Tuesday. Lowell Schweigert indicated that a 4:00 or 4:30 p.m. start time would be better for the alumni representatives. Bev Hopman said she would poll the committee members via e-mail regarding the date and time changes.

The meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m. The tentative meeting time for October is October 21 at 4:00 p.m. in the Memorial Room of the student union.
