Creating Your Own OWLS

You don't need 55 acres to develop an Outdoor Wildlife Learning Site. To promote development of OWL sites around the state, the Game and Fish Department is hoping to provide grants to organizations (schools, communities, clubs, etc.) that want to develop OWLS projects.

Guidelines for OWLS on school grounds and in communities are available from Game and Fish. These guidelines explain the OWLS program and what a school, community or club would be required to do in order to receive funding. The Department's goal is to provide $1,500 each to the first 12 project proposals we review and accept according to the guidelines.

For OWLS guidelines, write to Chris Grondahl, North Dakota Game and Fish Department, 100 N. Bismarck Expressway, Bismarck, ND 58501; or call 701-328-6612.
