Dean opened the meeting up at about 7:05PM. The meeting was held at Witmer 114

Elections were held today, the results were:

President: Chris Milford

Vice President: Kayla LaFrance

Treasurer: Dean Smith

Secretary: Matt Golz

There was also talk about having a public outreach/calling person to help out. This will be discussed in the next meeting after discussion amongst the board members.

Dean mentioned that the Mare Orientale will be visible again from October 17-22. He plans on going out to the observatory on Friday, October 17 around 10:30 P.M. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The lunar eclipse will be on Saturday, November 8. We are planning to make this a public event at Ulland Park from about 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. The details of the eclipse can be found at: http://skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/eclipses/article_1072_1.asp

The North Dakota Star Party is planned for the weekend starting May 21, 2004. This was discussed in the first NDSP planning meeting. The next NDSP planning meeting will be on October 17^th at 7:00 p.m. in the physics study area in Witmer.

The Badlands Star Party will be on August 13, 2004.

Trish talked about having the Astronomy Lab outing on October 30^th – they were planning on heading out around 5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and there will be close to 50 students.

The Dakota Science Center is having a haunted house from October 29-31. Milly asked if our club could help out with setting up the star room. They also wanted us to train them in the constellations so they can give the tour. They also asked us to be a sponsor for this event. The meeting for discussing the details for this event will be at 3:00 p.m. on October 15^th.

The next club meeting is on November 11, 7PM at the physics building, room 114.
