Minutes of September 11, 2006 meeting

Dean Smith, standing in for President Vishnu, started the meeting.

Introductions of attendees opened the meeting 

Elections of officers:

Dean introduced the Society and our activities to the new members.
	Location of UND Observatory, main events, Yahoo web, star parties, and our outreach programs

Dean talked about the Mercury transit occurring November 8th from 1:15pm to 6:00pm. We will cover it more at the October 9th meeting.

www.spaceweather.com and www.messier.com were demonstrated

Charlie showed his photos of the North American Nebula taken with his new camera

Jen talked about work on major star parties and asked for volunteers. Ray added information.

A Baader solar-filter construction site was looked at
