Saturday: The SpaceChicks!!!

Do you have children who want to attend the star party, not too sure what will interest them? Don't worry! We have the SpaceChicks coming back again this year. Who are the SpaceChicks? A group of outstanding educators from around the country who promote understanding and excitement in space and astronomy in young people. Last year they came and gave out space posters, let kids try on their space suits, answered questions and had a fun time sharing space with the kids. This year the "SpaceRooster" Chris Milford will join in to show kids what kinds of rocks are on Mars and how the Mars Rovers are driving around on the surface.

Saturday Rocket Blast!

Back again by popular demand, we will have a rocket building and launch session to be held on Saturday. This year we will actually have time to launch rockets before dinner. This activity should be suitable for children in 5th grade and above into adult age. There will be an additional charge for participating in this activity to cover costs associated with materials.

Sunday Morning Workshop!

This year we will be having a special kind of Sunday morning workshop hosted by Dean Smith, (NSAS Treasurer). Dean has been working on using web cameras to process planetary images. He will discuss his results, with hope that others who are in attendance also will share what they do. Software will be provided along with a limited number of computers, so if you have a laptop, please bring it along to participate.
