Meeting started at 5:30 p.m. Pizza and pop was served, and Professors Grabe, Weatherly, Schultz, Ferraro, Wise, and Poltavski spoke about the research they do. All mentioned a need for Research Assistants. After that, we played Psychology Jeopardy. Meeting was finished about 6:45 p.m. |

The meeting on Thursday, September 24 was about psychological testing. Dr. Joe Miller spoke about the importance of testing in diagnosing patients, how psychological tests work, and what limitations they have.
Jimmy John's subs were served. Signup sheets were sent around, and students could sign up for committees if they chose to do so. The next meeting will be on Thursday, October 8, and Dr. Karyn Plumm, along with some graduate students, will be speaking about the GRE and applying to graduate school. |

Dr. Ruthig came in to speak about the Northern Lights Conference. Please let her know if you are interested in helping out! Dr. Grabe also spoke about the process for nominating a member of the faculty for an award. He would like to change the process in teh future and wants SPA to help out. If you really liked one of the nominated faculty members, please write to Dr. Grabe and tell him why that member of the faculty deserves an award. Dr. Karyn Plumm and several graduate students spoke on getting into graduate school, the application process, and the GREs. Vegetables and dip was served. If you want more interesting food at SPA meetings, please pay your dues! You will not be allowed to go to lunch with Dr. Steve Ceci if you have not paid. |

Dr. Ferraro and Dr. Schultz spoke about neuropsychology's history and applications. Chips, Dip, and pop were served. On Sunday, October 25, we will be watching the movie Couples Retreat at 3:05 pm at the River Cinema. After that, we will be going to Blue Moose to discuss the movie. Everyone is welcome! |
