The Red River Valley History Conference

The Beta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta is pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Red River Valley History Conference. The Conference will be held Friday, February 27, 2009 at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

Proposals from students for individual papers are welcome on any topic, time period, or approach to history.  The panels will include two or three paper presentations at twenty minutes each. Presentations will be followed by a brief commentary.  A $100 cash prize will be awarded to the best undergraduate and graduate papers. Please submit a one-page proposal that consists of a one-page abstract and one-page curriculum vitae by December 10, 2008. Electronic submission is required.

The theme of this year’s conference is Images of the Past. In addition to paper presentations, the conference will include a keynote speaker. Participants can also sign up for a conference lunch catered by the North Dakota Museum of Art Cafè.
