How this flower and I became acquainted is really a story of second choice. I came into our class of

"Knowing Nature" (otherwise known as sociology 309) with little knowledge of what we were in for

during the semester.  As I found out we were developing web pages, yes the one you are now reading.

Our goal was to find a prairie flower, grass, weed, etc. that really sparked our interest or called out to us.

As it so happens I originally chose another plant as my topic, but it so turns out that that one was already

taken. That is how the prairie lily and I got to know one another for the first time.  I had never heard of or

seen the prairie lily prior to my experience in class or if I had it went unnoticed. Reading about the lily I

have learned a lot of interesting and unique information.  As I have gotten to know this plant and it's

history better I am glad that I had the opportunity to share the prairie Lilly's story with you.  I hope that

viewing this web page and the story of the Prairie Lily will spark an interest in you, not only to learn more

about this plant but other prairie plants as well.
