Location:  Western Yarrow is found most anywhere around the United States, while Common Yarrow, and a few other types of Yarrow, are only found in specific areas of the country.  Yarrow is native both to North America and to Eurasia.

HabitatYarrow is typically found in fields, pastures, disturbed sites, and along roadsides.  It is also found on the prairies, especially the tall grass prairies which have had previous disturbance.
Yarrow tends to grow in poor, gravely, droughty, and infertile soils such as; sand, clay, and loam.  Yarrow is not an agressive plant, so it does not compete well on rich soils.  But it is tough enabling the plant to sustain drought like conditions.

Bloom:  Yarrow is a hardy perennial that blooms generally from the months of June to September, and grows best in partial to full sunlight.
