Uses
The Verbascum thapsus is used for a large number of medicinal purposes. It has been used since the Middle ages, when it was brought to the United States by European settlers. It was used as a medicinal herb to treat diarrhea, coughs, and as a respiratory stimulant for the lungs when smoked. It is also used to treat ulcers, mumps, sore throat, and dropsy of the joints. It is incredible to think that a single plant is capable of producing remedies for such a large gamut of medical problems.
