There are a variety of scholarships and grants that are available to military-connected UND students.
Below are several opportunities of which to apply. Application deadlines and requirements may change. Please check back for updated opportunities.
Scholarships for Dependents of Deceased and Disabled Veterans
Heart of America Patriot Foundation
UND has partnered with the Heart of America Patriot Foundation to provide scholarships for dependents of deceased and 100% disabled veterans.
Current and returning UND students can apply for the scholarship, along with many other scholarships, in Scholarship Central by the March 1 deadline each year for the following academic year.
Folds of Honor
Dependents and/or spouses of fallen or disabled US service members are eligible to apply for scholarships. Find more information on this scholarship that can pay up to $5000 on the Folds of Honor website.
The application window is open February 1 through April 1.

CollegeRecon is the largest database of military, veteran, spouses and dependent scholarships and grants.
Pat Tillman Foundation
The Pat Tillman Foundation identifies remarkable military service members, veterans and spouses, empowering them with academic scholarships, lifelong leadership development opportunities and a diverse, global community of high-performing mentors and peers. These scholars are making an impact as they lead through action in the fields of healthcare, business, public service, STEM, education and the humanities”.
The deadline for this $11,000 scholarship is February 1st, 2024.
STEM Scholarship
The Edith Nourse Rogers Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) Scholarship allows some eligible Veterans and dependents in high-demand fields to extend their Post-9/11 GI Bill or Fry Scholarship benefits.
AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists) Foundation Scholarship
The Foundation awards scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 to cover the cost of attending a four-year accredited college or university. Scholarships are available to both active U.S. military service members (including National Guard and Reserve) or veteran members separated from active military service who have been honorably discharged, and are entering or re-entering a post-secondary undergraduate program in a field of geoscience full time or part time. Eligibility also includes military dependents (spouses and children) for the following categories: deceased, disabled, active and veteran.

Brady Oberg Legacy Scholarship
Brady Oberg Legacy Foundation is proud to offer college scholarships to combat veterans that are going into the mental health field as counselors or psychologists. Apply through UND Scholarship Central.
Application deadline is March 1.
